Healing Anti-inflammatory Turmeric Chicken Soup Recipe

Turmeric chicken soup is a tasty and healthy dish for a chilly winter day or when you feel unwell. Turmeric is a spice with anti-inflammatory properties, which can help relieve a sore throat, alleviate aches and pains, and strengthen your immune system. This soup also includes other beneficial ingredients, such as chicken, vegetables, and herbs.

Turmeric Chicken Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground turmeric
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 8 cups chicken broth
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, chopped
  • 1 (15-ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen peas
  • ½ cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the onion, carrots, and celery and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  2. Add the garlic, ginger, turmeric, and red pepper flakes and cook for 1 minute more.
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil. Add the chicken and cook until cooked through about 10 minutes.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, peas, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Serve hot.

  • Brown the chicken in the pot before adding the vegetables for a more flavorful soup.
  • Add other vegetables to this soup, such as potatoes, green beans, or corn.
